PNC Gallery opened in 2012 in Daegu, a city where the Korean avant-garde movement flourished in the 1970s and 1980s. 

Inspired by her father, architect Lee Hyun Jae (active in the Korean avant-garde movement along with Park Hyun Ki, Lee KangSo, and Choi Byung So), Lee Ji Won, the founder of PNC, aims to promote Korean contemporary artists of diverse generations, such as Hoon Kwak, Lee Bae, Lee Joon, Lee Myung Mi, Hyung-Geun Park, and Jang Ji Soo. In 2016, Lee Ji Won worked as a co-commissioner for the exhibition “Dansaekhwa” at the Domaine de Kerguéhennec with Olivier Delavallade. In 2015, she sponsored “Carte Blanche: Lee Bae” at the Musée Guimet. Since 2019, PNC Gallery has had two exhibition spaces, one in Seoul and one in Daegu. 

PNC aims to serve as a bridge between the Korean and international art scenes, and to continue its artistic journey for future generations.
